Hello friends and family. Can you believe when we sleep tonight, we will wake up into 2022 the following day? Where did 2021 go? I guess that's why they say the phrase 'time flies when you're living your best life'—just kidding. Well, maybe not. My life quality has improved since I have been more honest with myself about my likes and dislikes. Cheers to better mental health 🥂
What's funny is that I don't see anyone saying 2022 will be their year because everyone is so afraid of corona showing another side of its personality. I kind of agree with having not too many expectations ahead of time, but it never hurts to plan things. The goal is to become more adaptable and flexible based on your environment.
This article aims to sprinkle a little inspiration and some tips to help you have a great year, so let's have a chat at the table.
Inspiration
Let's start with very basic words.
“Today is the oldest you've ever been, and the youngest you'll ever be again.”
Isn't this just so beautiful? If you want to start something, let today be it. If you needed a year to start or end something, let 2022 be that year. Let go of that drama you are unwillingly part of for some reason. Please don't go overboard on day one with enthusiasm because it won't last the entire year so hold yourself accountable for goals that you will actually follow through. Let this year be the year to cut off any negativity from your life. Do things that make you uncomfortable because that's how you learn and grow. Don't let your ego take over you. When in doubt, use your words to clarify a situation.
Goals
Ayo! Perfect time to jot some goals down. I love looking back at my yearly goals and seeing how much I have accomplished. I didn't meet one of my goals this year, but that's ok. There is nothing wrong with that. It turns out my priorities changed mid-semester, so I decided to put it off. Now, I am ready to pursue it again, so I'll just continue it. Think of these goals as a time capsule. I already journal my journey, but it's nice to see an explanation for not meeting a specific goal. Reminder, a goal can be as simple as "I will listen to more of Lil Baby," lol. Don't share all the goals with your friends and family. Keep some private to yourself.
Mantra for 2022
My mantra for 2022 is going to be: "I ain't got time for this bullshit✨."
You are welcome to use my mantra or just make one of your own. Mantra helps you decide in difficult times. If it's worth it, then fight for it. If it's meant for you, it will come to you. There is a beautiful saying in the Quran that keeps me hopeful at times of struggle. It goes like this:
Remember to keep learning and growing. The beauty lies in the unique things in this world. Learn from the people that are different from you and have lived through various life experiences. You won't regret it. Focus on your health and be grateful for everything you have been blessed with so far in life. Trust me, some people are struggling with the essential things in life.
Happy New Year Fam! Love y'all💞
