"Twas the season of spreading joy and flu." Good afternoon to all my gorgeous people who are reading this blog. It officially winters in Atlanta because the temp has been hanging around the 30s for a while now. I love the winters in Atlanta. Even though we are considered the "South," we still get enough cold to wear all our fashionable outfits without dealing with the snow. That is great for us because, as we all know, people in Atlanta don't know how to drive 🙂. With the freezing temps outside, it's time for hot chocolates, hoodies, soups, and some adventures.
Today I will share some of my favorite wintertime things to do in Atlanta with y'all, so stay tuned!
Ice Skating in Atlantic Station
If you have never been to Atlantic Station, this cute little place on the 17th St bridge is surrounded by restaurants and shops. They set up two giant Christmas trees and an ice skating rink every holiday season. I tried ice skating for the first time last year. While it was not the best experience for me, I recommend you drive and explore the area. They have a designated parking garage, and it's pretty affordable.
Holiday Nights at Botanical Garden
This has been on my list for two years now, and I'm not sure why I haven't been able to go there yet. I think it's because it sells out pretty quickly, and I never had the chance to coordinate with my friends. Based on hundreds of pictures, I recommend experiencing the beautiful holiday lights at the botanical garden. The reviews are really good. The tickets are around $28-$48, depending on the night. Make sure you buy your tickets online ahead of time.
Explore the Atlanta German Market
The official name of this market is "Christkindl Market". They host this market every year around this time, with various vendors selling jewelry to food. They also sell some special german treats made right in front of you. It's worth checking out. Just google "Christkindl Market", and you can visit their website for additional details. See you at the market 😃
Illuminights at the Zoo
This is a new venue for me. So a Chinese Lantern festival is happening at the zoo after dark hours. These lanterns are handmade by artists who spend hundreds of hours on them. I am obsessed with anything that glows in the dark, so I can't wait to check out the work of these artists. It will be here till January 15th, and the tickets range above $20.
Ponce City Market
You talk about "things to do in Atlanta" and not mention PCM? Did you even do anything in Atlanta?
Our beloved PCM also gets dressed for the holidays by hosting different markets and events on the rooftop. PCM is also known for having these sky igloos, which are these covered seating areas where you can enjoy a meal with your friends. PCM also has ice skating opportunities and other fun activities for you and your friends. And lastly, if you are looking for good holiday cocktails/mocktails, this will be your place.
Cirque Du Soleil
This circus is called Kurious, located at the Atlantic Station. I went to it, and I found it very interesting. It was not your typical circus. They were doing things that would make you question your life, but then again, it's part of the experience. They are in Atlanta till December 24th, so book your tickets today.
Alright, so I have given you a couple of places to enjoy. Visit these places and then leave some comments on this post telling me about your experience. Have fun this holiday season, stay warm, and try not to get sick like me for a month 🥹
P.S.: The website will be under renovation project for the month of December, so if I don't see you again, Happy New Year!
See you next year!
Until Next Time, Peace🌙
