Hi family! I hope things are going okay on your end. Last week’s discussion was tense indeed. But that’s okay. The purpose of my blog is to spread awareness and talk about things that people feel very subjected towards. Inspired by last week, I thought about what else keeps us from reaching our full potential in life, and I stumbled upon our mutual friend ‘fear’. Fear is another abstract term that has a very controlling side effect. Some of the fears are irrational, while others are based on our instincts. For example, fear of the number thirteen is considered irrational because it’s based on some spiritual stories and myth-based facts. In comparison, fear of lions is real because back in the day, when humans used to live between animals, we were supposed to watch out for any animals that might be a threat to us or our family. Hell, who isn’t afraid of lions? Let’s say a lion randomly walks in front of you; unless you’re a lion tamer, you will be pissing your pants.
As you know, I’m on a roll in terms of making new friends, so I’m having a lot of conversations with these new friends. After collecting some general public data, I realized that a lot of people have irrational fears that are keeping them from trying new things. But how is it exactly affecting us?
Impact
I don’t even know where to start, so let’s just take an example as always. My mom has a lot of fears. She is claustrophobic. She has a fear of getting stuck on an elevator. She has a fear of getting lost and many more. As a result, my mom always needs a companion with her. One day, I would like to travel with my mom and show her wonders of the world, but a lot of them might require getting on an elevator. She absolutely refuses to get on an elevator even though my sister and I have explained to her that there is an emergency button, and they get inspected all the time. Now, because her fear has taken over her, I’m afraid that this one time she takes an elevator, she will get stuck on it. Call it luck or the projection of ‘fear energy’. I really hope it doesn’t happen, but you see, at this point, she’s just making up the worst-case scenarios and imagining herself there. In reality, it’s highly unlikely she will get stuck on an elevator just because she doesn’t travel like that and especially to no sketchy places.
‘Fear energy’, by the way, is real. It’s a mix of negative energy and projected energy of other people, so make sure to cleanse your aura.
What’s The Fix?
Very simple. Just face your fear. If it’s a fear that interferes in your way to success, then you should probably face it as soon as possible. Otherwise, you’re just like the plane waiting to land but roaming in the air as there is a lot of ramp traffic, delaying the time to the destination. I have acrophobia, which is a fear of heights. I have gotten better at it over time, but some places make me dizzy. But you see, I’m not trying to be a pilot or a professional sky-diver, so having this fear is okay. Just try to remind yourself, if it’s an abstract fear, then it’s all in your head.
My Two Cents
As always, life is short. We are all trying to just take the bits and pieces and put it together to make some sense in life. I’m sharing what I have learned, you can share what you have learned in the comments. I’m always open to hearing different opinions. But in terms of fear and its side effects, keep an eye on it because if you ignore it for long, it can become a habit. You already know it’s hard to teach tricks to an old dog so you better start facing your fears now.
Till next time, peace!
