Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers around the world even though I have always questioned Mother’s Day. Mothers are such award winning, undefeatable soldier kind goddesses, why only celebrate them once a year? These are creatures that deserve to be celebrated every single day with a doubt.
Being a mother is not an easy process. Not everyone is born with the guts to bring a life into this world. The whole process of carrying a child for nine months to almost dying while giving birth is very much underrated. People look at it like it’s very natural and that's true but that doesn’t make it any easier. It’s an excruciating process. While birthing is one part of becoming a mother, apparently according to mothers, the raising part is even harder.
See the relationship of mother to child is very precious. No matter how old a child gets, a mothers love only gets stronger over time. Unlike any other relationship, mothers have this tendency to love their children despite any conditions or circumstances. They are always willing to go above and beyond for their children so why shouldn’t we as children do the same thing for them?
Status of Mothers in Islam
In Islam, mothers hold a very high status and are considered to be among the most respected and honored members of society. Islam encourages people to show kindness, love, and respect towards their mothers, and considers it a great sin to disrespect or disobey them. Islam also consistently emphasizes the importance of acknowledging the sacrifices and efforts made by mothers repeatedly states the fact in Quran that heaven lies under the feet of your mother.
How to Make This Mother’s Day Special for Your Mom
Honestly, if you just do the house chores for that day, your mom will be more than happy. But if you have some extra budget, I suggest the following ideas for your mother:
- Get a bouquet of flowers and chocolates
- Take her for pedicure and manicure
- Take her out for dinner/brunch
- Do all the house chores for that day
- Tell her how much you appreciate her
- Get her self-care kit
- Buy her a present
- Have a deep conversation about her life before she had kids
- Get ready and take a lot of pictures
I’m so excited to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mother this year after nine years! Mother’s Day is truly for people who don’t live with their mothers and have to carve out time to see them. Everyone who has the ability to see their mothers anytime they want are truly blessed. This Mother’s Day, also remember people who have lost their mothers, mothers who can’t wait to become mothers, mothers who have lost a child, and finally for mothers who may be going through a hard time with their kids. I hope things get better for everyone.
Mamas, y’all are amazing, always remember ❤️
Until next time, Peace🌹
