How to make the most out of Summer 2021

Howdy, y'all! I really hope you are enjoying this summer staying outdoors and eating some ice cream. I, myself, have been taking walks more often and been focusing on improving my mental health. I don't know about you but this is my last summer "in school" and I really want to absorb every moment of it. I also want to make the most out of it. Even though, the concept of "last summer in school" really doesn't apply to me because I'm still working and doing what I would normally do but I guess I'm not going to have summer break again 😧

To start off, I love summer. I am totally a summer baby. I love smoothies, beaches, late-night drives, and just the overall vibe in the summer. To some people that might be a little too basic, but I have been focusing on being present in the moment and just enjoying little things in life. This kind of attitude has definitely made me very grateful over the years. But aside from that, what do I really mean by "make the most out of the Summer?". Well, if you haven't already acknowledged, summer is a time where at least students will have a little extra time on their hands, unless, you are taking full-time summer classes and working two jobs (in which case I'm sorry).

Current Midweek Routine:

If you are in my position, you will have an internship, interview prep, and some family to deal with this summer. That still leaves a lot of time on my hands and my curious self always loves to stay busy. My internship hasn't given me a lot of work so I spend a lot of my days networking and doing training modules. After all, it's all about what you make out of your time in the company. After my 9-5ish kind of day, which I am loving because working from home, I can make myself an amazing lunch, drink out of my espresso machine, and take afternoon naps. After the internship, I tend to take an hour or longer break to just unwind and go for a walk outside. Once I come back, I usually get very tired so I run towards my cappuccino machine for a small booster cup. I get myself some dinner and then finally hop on my laptop to start some interview prep for the night. This kind of routine continues throughout the week, and then the weekend arrives.

Weekend Routine:

If I have paid all my bills for the month, and by any chance, I feel like seeing my friends, I will go grab a bite with them. If that's not the case (like 99%), I just study or do some side hustle like DoorDash so I can save up some more. One of my major goals over the weekend is also to catch up on my sleep and meal prep for the week. I am also very interested in topics like crypto, real estate, ecom business, and cars, so a lot of times I am researching on them and keeping up with the world. Just like this, the two days of the weekend disappear in the thin air. Poof!

Advice:

Do something productive or focus on yourself. It can be something simple as I stopped eating too much sugar. I am reading a book called "The power of now" and it's basically telling me to be more alive in the present and worry less about the future or the past. Yes make plans for tomorrow, but don't forget to enjoy today as you're not promised tomorrow. Complete a Udemy course, journal about your life, get in fit shape, get in touch with an old friend, travel, listen to Drake's old gold albums....you get it.

Slouching is fun I totally agree but having a routine, being productive and something to look back to is even better! Good Luck!
