Yo, what's up, everyone! Long time no see. Just kidding, we saw each other here last week. I'm working really hard to keep our relationship consistent. This requires energy and commitment, but anything for you, love. Today's topic is inspired by my energy levels and is sponsored by my age. In reality, I think the weather sponsored it because as the weather gets colder, the streets get empty, and all I want to do is go to sleep or stay in my bed. The problem is that I can't do that because that's just me wasting my life away in my bed. So, I came up with some tips to get the most out of myself without eating my ear off. Just to clarify, I have tested these tips on myself, and they work! So, let me share them with you and add some magic to your life ✨
Get Your Damn Sleep
Yep, I am going to start with my favorite tip. I love sleeping. It's something I don't choose to sacrifice. I will sacrifice the work/study/social life but never my sleep. This is because I know how important it is for our body to get the required rest and recover. I tell people that sleep is like a drug. You can get pulled over if you're under the influence of a drug because this puts you and everyone else on the road in danger. Same with the sleep. When you're sleep-deprived, your body is under the influence of sleep deprivation. It is as dangerous as any drug. You can fall asleep on the wheel, and you're endangering your and other people's lives on the road. Hell, I can't even think straight when I'm sleepy. I even have a mood called sleepy-drunk, which is basically me acting(not intentionally) as if I was drunk but without drinking, and the only thing I am under the influence of is sleep.
A lot of non-fatal drugs are not going to damage your body too much with a one-time use. The same goes for sleep. You might think it's ok to skip it today, and you know what, it probably is. It becomes a problem when you keep sacrificing it consistently. I never understood when students pulled overnighters. Like how the fuck are you even retaining any of the information that you crunched overnight. I always took a nap during the crunch season of school and woke up to a fresh mind, ready to go through the material.
Drink More Water
This is something I am currently trying to work on. Not going to lie, it's hard. The constant need to go to the bathroom is another distraction for me. Also, if you are low-key addicted to sugar, then replacing water with all your drinks is going to be a hustle. But water is like food for our body. We think we can't live without food, but the truth is that our bodies can't live without water. It can even survive on just water for days. Water helps regulate all the essential functions in the body, like digestion, and it transports all the nutrients to other parts of the body. Try water at different temperatures to find your best fit. Or, if you can't be basic like normal people, spice up your water game by adding extra things.
Move Yourself
Listen man, it's not that hard. It's pretty straightforward that when we get comfortable somewhere, it's the start of our career as a slouch potato. We all have experienced those days where it's raining outside, and all we want to do is stay inside and watch a movie. Because of this, our energy levels go shooting down. This happens to me all the time. So, whenever I start feeling lazy at an unusual time of the day, I put my noise-canceling headphones on and blast some rap music. I try to go for a walk on my roof just to get some fresh air and get the blood pumping. This boosts my energy, increases my mood, and increases the oxygen supply to my head.
Prepare Your Own Meals
I can't emphasize this enough, but making your food can impact you in multiple ways. Let's talk, shall we? Well, first of all, you know all the ingredients in your food, so it's easier to keep track of your likes and dislikes. You can look up different recipes and cook healthy AND delicious food. You save a lot of money. You learn to cook! Fellas, ladies love a man who can cook. After all, it's the direct way to the heart. Lastly, it's easier to keep track of your calories and determine if you're intolerant of any foods. The thinking part where you have to think of a dish to cook can be dreadful, so a helpful tip is to follow many Instagram pages. My current favorites are "TheGoldenBalance" on Instagram and a youtube channel called "FoodFusion".
Last Thoughts
The whole reason behind this article was the fact that I go through low moments of energy way too often. But I can't blame myself because I put myself in that situation. I am learning from my own advice and hopefully next year I will spend more time being active. Because let me tell you something besties, all I am doing right now is sleep lol. You can get this fact checked by my friends and sisters. I am just taking things a little slow right now because I am aware next year is going to be a hustle year.
Till next time👋🏻
