In today's fast-paced world, the quest for inner calm and groundedness can often feel like an uphill battle. We're constantly bombarded by external stimuli – from work demands to social media notifications – that can disrupt our inner peace.


In 2020, I decided to turn off all my social media notifications and four years later, and they are still turned off. This has reduced unwanted anxiety for me and left me in a position where I can choose to check what's happening with other people's lives.


Becoming more grounded and calm is not only achievable but also essential for our overall well-being and nervous system.


Here are some strategies you can adopt to cultivate a more serene and balanced state of mind.

Even a few minutes of meditation each day can help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings, reducing stress and promoting calm.

Deep Breathing Exercises Deep breathing exercises can help calm your mind and body. When you breathe deeply, it sends a message to your brain to relax. The brain then sends this message to your body, leading to a series of physiological responses such as lower heart rate and blood pressure, promoting a sense of calm.

Connection with Nature Spending time in nature can have a profound grounding effect. Whether it's a walk in the park, gardening, or simply sitting under a tree, nature has a way of calming our minds and helping us feel more connected to the world around us.
