Eid Mubarak in Advance! (because we can never predict when it's actually going to be)

Eid Mubarak, Y'all! 🥳

I'm wishing you Eid in advance because it's most likely on Monday, and there are rough chances on Sunday. I would rather be early than be late to tell you all about Eid and why it's my favorite holiday!

The Eid that comes after Ramadan is called Eid-al-Fitr (pronounced as eeed-ul-fetar). This Eid is commonly known as the Feast of Fast-Breaking. After 30 days of fasting, Muslims celebrate Eid by having big dinners and family gatherings. Muslims are not allowed to fast on the day of Eid. The day of Eid can differ by country and sometimes by the sect of Islam you belong to. It's tough to predict the exact day of Eid as Muslims depend on the Lunar calendar. I remember when I was little, we used to go to our rooftop to spot the moon on the last days of Ramadan. It was really hard to find a sliver of the moon with a naked eye, so we were never successful, but it was something we did as a cultural tradition.

What Are Some Traditions on The Day of Eid?

Most people start their day with a brand new outfit and Eid prayer. When they go to a mosque, the goal is to be in the flyest fit ever, lol. But yeah, low-key, it's like a competition. After prayer, people hug each other and say, Eid Mubarak, which translates to Happy Eid.

Many women after that get to their kitchens to cook delicious meals while men, as always, sit and relax. Lmao, fine, I won't grill men today.

Oooh, the best part was Eidi. Eidi is like Eid money that older people give to younger people. There is no set amount. It's whatever you can afford. I remember racking up big amounts back in the day and flexing on my siblings. Usually, as you grow up, instead of receiving, you become the giver, which is what I am now🥲🙃

This is My Favorite Eid

If I could describe the feeling of eating between the hours of dawn to sunset after Ramadan in one word, it would be illegal. You may wonder why? As stated, we have been fasting from dawn to sunset for a month, you get in this habit of eating after those hours, so when you're finally allowed to eat, it feels like something you shouldn't be doing, aka illegal lol. It feels so nice to be back in the routine where you can replenish yourself anytime, which leaves me feeling very grateful.

Also, for a whole month, Muslims refrain from many activities like cursing, listening to music, being an asshole at times, etc. While some of those things may not be the best idea to begin with, it feels amazing to feel like a badass again🤣. The first thing I do is blast off the baddest rap song in my car and jam my way while drinking iced coffee. It's almost like you were conservative for a month, and suddenly you have become a liberal. I mean, Muslims aren't perfect, so don't judge us, please 🥴

Don't forget to post your fit pics on gram😉 Add me as well: zahra.759k

Eid Mubarak, and see you next week, Peace!
